- show students slideshow of images of Washington Monument and introduce project
3. Quick Assessment WS (differentiated based on students readiness)
- The Washington Monument was built in honor of _______________________.
- He was the first ___________________ of the United States of America.
- After completing the WS, students may begin working on their Washington Monument.
- The WS can then be cut up and pasted on the monument base or on the back.
- Teach/Model folding and template whole group. This is also a good opportunity to select two students who can help support others
- Walk around the class to support kids cutting and folding and work with kids on folding in table groups
